As an Energy for Palmdale’s Independent Choice (EPIC) customer, you may notice that your energy bill contains charges from both EPIC and Southern California Edison (SCE). This is a normal part of our service structure and does not mean you are being double charged.
EPIC and SCE work in partnership to provide your electricity service. EPIC is responsible for sourcing your electricity, while SCE manages the delivery of that power to your home or business through its infrastructure.
On your bill, you will see charges from SCE for electricity delivery and transmission. These reflect the costs of maintaining the power lines that bring electricity to you. You’ll also see charges from EPIC, which represent the cost of procuring the electricity you use. These EPIC charges are not an additional fee; instead, they replace what SCE would have billed for electricity generation if you were not an EPIC customer.
It is important to understand that each charge on your bill is for a distinct service. There is no overlap or duplication in these charges. For those interested in the details, your bill provides a breakdown of all charges and information about your daily energy usage. EPIC is committed to transparency and wants to ensure you can easily understand your energy costs.
