Energy for Palmdale Independent Choice (EPIC) proudly marked its third anniversary on October 1, 2025, serving as the City of Palmdale’s locally-managed community choice aggregation program.
Since its launch in October 2022, EPIC has grown substantially, now serving over 57,078 residential customers across Palmdale. This growth reflects a significant increase from its second anniversary, when EPIC served just over 40,000 residential and 1,000 commercial customers.
As a locally-managed agency, EPIC reinvests directly into the Palmdale community through innovative initiatives and community partnerships. Key programs include Power Choice, Power Choice CARE*, the upcoming Flexwise energy efficiency program and the Your Ride is EPIC electric vehicle incentive rebates. EPIC also recently partnered with South Antelope Valley Emergency Services to provide 143 free refurbished laptops, building local digital equity and access to both virtual connections and clean energy. These community investments support the City of Palmdale’s broader vision for sustainability, economic resilience and energy independence.
Building on three years of success, EPIC plans to further expand its program offerings and continue being part of California’s clean energy transition. The program serves as a model for other communities, demonstrating how local control over energy choices can deliver both environmental and economic benefits.
