Energy for Palmdale’s Independent Choice (EPIC) invites customers to participate in the “Your Ride is EPIC” program! Eligible participants have the opportunity to receive a free (or significantly discounted) charger for their electric vehicle (EV) or plug-in electric vehicle (PHEV).

Enrolled customers are entitled to one plug-in unit or one wall-mounted unit per household on a first-come, first-served basis until resources are depleted. The program is designed to allow customers to choose the option that best suits their charging needs.

Interested in a plug-in unit? Here’s how it works:

  1. Select Your Charger: Customers may purchase a new plug-in EV charger of their choice and be refunded up to $250.
  2. Submit Your Rebate Application: Once purchased, simply print and fill out the plug-in charger application available here.
  3. You may mail it to 38250 N. Sierra Hwy Palmdale, CA 93550 or drop it off at City of Palmdale Development Services Building.
  4. If you prefer to complete the application electronically, please click here.
  5. Ensure you agree to the Terms and Conditions on page two of the application.

Please note that it may take up to eight weeks for application processing before a rebate is issued. For residents requesting a level II plug-in unit requiring the installation of a 240-volt plug, please complete the Wall-Mounted Units Offer instructions below instead.

Wall-Mounted Units Offer

Wall Mounted Charger

Looking for a wall-mounted unit? Follow the steps below:

  1. There are two options for reimbursement for wall-mounted units:
    • Immediate Reimbursement: Choose your EV charger, get it installed at home, and submit your documents to the City of Palmdale for a refund. Once your documents are approved, you’ll receive a rebate.
    • Reserved Funds: Secure your spot on the “reserved funds” list for reimbursement. This guarantees funds for your EV charger purchase after completing the installation. You have 60 days from applying to the list to finish the work and submit proof to the City of Palmdale. If not completed within 60 days, your spot on the list will be lost, but you can still apply for reimbursement without guaranteed funds.
  2. Select Your Charger: Customers may purchase a level II wall-mounted EV charger of their choice and be reimbursed for up to $550, which can be used towards the purchase price of the wall-mounted charger, installation and/or necessary permits.
  3. Make sure you agree to the Terms and Conditions on page two of the application.
  4. Submit Your Rebate Application: Once purchased, simply complete the wall-mounted charger application available here.
    • You may mail it to 38250 N. Sierra Hwy Palmdale, CA 93550 or drop it off at City of Palmdale Development Services Building.

  5. Please note: All installation work must be completed by a licensed electrician in order to be considered for reimbursement through the rebate program. The City will only reimburse costs for work completed by a contractor up to $550. Any costs exceeding $550 will be the responsibility of the customer.
  6. In order to be considered for reimbursement, the customer must provide:
    • An original receipt for the EV charger, including: the charger brand, model, purchase price and date.
    • Photograph of the installed charger.
    • Copy of the labor receipt from a licensed electrician.
    • Copy of the final City of Palmdale Building and Safety Permit for the charger installation (Does not apply to plug-in chargers unless the outlet was upgraded by a licensed electrician to a 240-volt receptacle).
    • Copy of DMV registration, vehicle proof of purchase or lease agreement.
