Energy for Palmdale’s Independent Choice (EPIC) is reminding residents about an exciting limited-time opportunity that combines the benefits of solar and battery storage with a chance to win a new electric vehicle or $35,000 cash through the Power Choice EV Giveaway Contest (sponsored exclusively by Participate.Energy).
The Power Choice program makes clean energy accessible and affordable for EPIC customers. The innovative initiative offers homeowners, renters with landlord permission and businesses an opportunity to install solar panels and battery storage systems with no down payment, no credit check and no property liens required. Instead of facing prohibitive upfront costs, participants pay for the clean energy they use through their regular electric bill, with a fixed 1.9% annual rate increase.
By choosing solar and battery storage through Power Choice, residents gain multiple advantages. The battery systems store excess solar energy generated during the day, allowing households to use that clean power during evening peak hours (4 to 9 p.m.) when electricity rates are highest. During power outages, it provides critical backup power to essential appliances and medical devices.
The environmental benefits are equally important. Homeowners who store and use their own solar energy reduce their reliance on fossil fuel power plants that typically activate during high demand periods.
Entering the Power Choice EV Giveaway Contest is straightforward. Both current Power Choice customers and new customers who enroll and complete installation by May 31 have a chance to enter and win. Eligible participants can enter by submitting their contact information, a short summary about their experience with Power Choice and how it makes a difference in their lives, along with a photo of themselves with their installed system.
