Energy for Palmdale’s Independent Choice (EPIC) has launched a tool on its website to help customers better understand their monthly energy bills. The interactive tool features a user-friendly design and allows customers to click on different components of their bill to view detailed definitions. Additionally, the tool includes two informational videos available in both English and Spanish.
Customers receive a single bill each month, which includes charges from both EPIC and its partner Southern California Edison (SCE). The EPIC portion of the bill reflects the costs associated with sourcing renewable energy, while SCE’s charges reflect the costs of delivering that power to the customer’s home or business.
The two separate line items on each bill are meant to clarify the different costs associated with procurement and delivery and do not represent double charging or additional fees.
