As the summer season officially ends in the Antelope Valley, Energy for Palmdale’s Independent Choice (EPIC) is reflecting on a season packed with community engagement, digital equity initiatives and sustainable-living outreach. Throughout the warmer months, EPIC partnered with the City of Palmdale to bring clean energy education, ticket giveaways and essential technology directly to local residents.

EPIC brought energy to the Palmdale Amphitheater by sponsoring the City’s Summer Concert Series and Family Movie Nights, engaging with attendees and hosting resource booths. Through social media giveaways on Facebook and Instagram, EPIC awarded families a six-pack of tickets to blockbuster screenings like Zootopia 2, Lilo & Stitch and Despicable Me 4, as well as live performances by Babyface, Lee Brice, War, TLC, Ja Rule and the Beach Boys. In total, EPIC awarded nearly 100 tickets to local households.

Digital equity remained a cornerstone of EPIC’s summer outreach as well. EPIC teamed up with the City to host device distribution events at Legacy Commons for Active Seniors, providing registered seniors with free refurbished laptops, custom branded sleeves and personalized setup support to help them connect with family and manage health resources. The event built upon EPIC’s delivery of 143 refurbished laptops to families served by South Antelope Valley Emergency Services earlier in the year.
